Books about vampires and adventures of Harry Potter. These are regular lectures of students today. As the country's libraries have not made acquisitions for years, young people read what they find online or do not read at all. Teachers and librarians shrug. It wouldn’t be a problem, if reading choices of the new generation wouldn’t be so different from the books that normally the young generation has to read for their general knowledge.

The same situation is seen in the region of Rezina. The library of Lalova village gymnasium bought its last book five years ago.
In the absence of books, the passion for classical works is rapidly losing ground in rhythm. Today's students prefer books downloaded from the Internet or bought from abroad. The lack of money for library acquisitions depends on donations.

To support reading within the "For the book of Moldova" campaign, Edelweiss Foundation made a donation of books to students from Lalova. Stocks have been enriched in the city library in the district of Soldanesti. Approximately 15,000 books were donated to libraries around the country by Edelweiss Foundation in the framework of “For the book of Moldova” campaign.
