The tournament will be held in the capital of Latvia, Riga, where the Republic of Moldova will be represented by 20 fighters. The main candidates for podium are Vlad Para, Stanislav Renita and Alexandru Botnaru. Over 500 sportsmen from 20 countries will fight for the championship.

“Edelweiss was a constant supporter of the national K-1 team of the Republic of Moldova. We believe in the potential of our national team, which proved that it can fight literally and metaphorically for the sports prestige and image of our country”, said Lara Castravet, Project Coordinator at Edelweiss Foundation.

Recently, the Moldovan sportsmen, supported by Edelweiss, brought home 2 golden and one silver medal from The Asian Championship on K-1 for amateurs from Uzbekistan, organized on August 8 – 12, 2012.
