Having reached the respectable age of 73 years Mihail Malear continues to proudly represent our country at the World and European Championships in Judo and Sambo. The Edelweiss founder wanted to know him personally and congratulate the champion.

His participation in the recent World Championship held in Italy was supported by the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss”, and Mihail Malear managed to bring glory again to the Republic of Moldova taking the first place in the M9-100 category among veterans.

The enthusiasm he speaks with about his passion for judo once again demonstrates that venerable age is not a hindrance to results or performance. “As long as I live on earth, I will fight. As long God gave me life to live, I will fight. When I stand on the podium and looking how the national anthem of Moldova is playing and hearing how the flag is rising – I feel happy and my heart blossoms. I cordially thank you for your support. I brought a gold medal. I have proved that Moldovans are self-willed and strong people”, Mihail Malear said.

Impressed by the champion’s determination the Edelweiss founder gave him a kimono to attract the luck in competitions and promised that he would support his participation in the next Championship to be held this month in Greece.

“I like to help people who represent Moldova. You are the best example showing that at the age slightly advanced than “young” you can still do a lot. You show the others that it’s not the time to go to rest, that they should go out and fight no matter what is the field”, Vlad Plahotniuc said.

The gesture of the Edelweiss founder enjoyed Mihail Malear, who promised to return victoriously from the next competition.
