Children from several villages in Hancesti district will travel to the kindergarten and community centre in Sarata Galbena much easier thanks to the minibus given by the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc "Edelweiss".

This is the third local development project under "The Village of the Future" National Campaign, through which "Edelweiss" Foundation contributes to the development of rural areas in the Republic of Moldova.

Children from the villages that are part of the Sarata Galbena commune will use the new minibus. One of these children has special needs, so a vehicle adapted to such needs was very much necessary. "The old minibus was not equiped with an access ramp and didn't have a special place for the wheel-chair. It only had eight places and the children were always crammed in it. Parents do not have the possibility to transport children in personal cars, and there is no public transport available. I'd say, they live in disadvantaged areas", mentioned the manager of "Viitorul" Community Centre, Elena Scripnic.

Through this project, the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc "Edelweiss" proposes to support local development projects and thus encourage the families from our country to build a better life in Moldova.  "Children are the future of this country and they need our care and attention. They deserve all our investments and efforts to offer them conditions to go to school and to build a decent life here, at home", said the executive director of "Edelweiss", Lidia Cucos.

On March 3, 2017, the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc "Edelweiss" launched a competition under "The Village of the Future" Campaign.  The Foundation will award a prize in value of 200 thousand lei to the selected five best local development projects.
