The “Cantabile” choir of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova recently launched their CD named “Cantate Domine”. The financing of this event was a surprise on behalf of the founder of “Edelweiss”, Mr. Vlad Plahotniuc. The CD contains 11 tracks and was launched with the financial support of the Foundation for the Development of the Republic of Moldova “Edelweiss”.
The idea to launch the CD of the group appeared in November 2010, when the choir came back from Italy with the “Publics Choice” prize in The Voices of Europe contest. The Moldovan chorists evolved on the stage of Porto Torres, Italy, at the prestigious International Festival of Choral Music. The participation of Moldova in this contest was possible with the financial support of the “Edelweiss” Foundation.
The youth Choir “Cantabile” is a recent group formed by the young conductor Elena Marian. The choir was founded November 1st, 2009, within the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova. In less than a year “Cantabile” impressed both management of the institution, as well as the prominent musical figures of the capital city, by their performances.
