The partnership between Edelweiss Foundation and of Mother and Child Institute aims to raise funds for modernizing the medical institution.

Edelweiss Foundation for the development of the Republic of Moldova signed a partnership agreement with The Mother and Child Institute in regards to the modernization of the Chisinau maternity which has a birth rate of 6000 children a year. The partnership between Edelweiss Foundation and of Mother and Child Institute aims to raise funds for modernizing the medical institution.

The first fundraising action will take place on Saturday, April 12, as a great charity concert, held at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet “Maria Biesu “in Chisinau. The concert will be held by the beloved singer Laima Vaikule and local artists Catalin Josan and Tania Cerga. The money raised from ticket sales for this concert will be transferred directly to the Institute of Mother and Child, to be used for repairs and the purchase of the required equipment.

The Charity concert is suggestively called “Revive Moldova." With this, the organizers encourage those interested in buying tickets to the do so and help the Mother and Child Institute. The usage of raised funds from ticket sales will be made transparent so that the public at large will be informed regularly about repairs that will take place in the maternity.

The partnership between Edelweiss and the Institute of Mother and Child is based on previous sound cooperation between the charity foundation and motherhood in Chisinau. The objective of this joint project is to upgrade to western standards of the Institute of Mother and Child and thus providing better conditions for patients.

The Mother and Child Institute in Chisinau serves about 33,000 patients and 88,000 children receive medical consultations. The Institute operates for 31 years now, and this year recorded the highest number of births out of all maternity hospitals in the country. According to the administration of the Institute of Mother and Child, the acquisition of modern medical equipment and renovating maternity wards is absolutely necessary to ensure their patients the best possible conditions.
