Edelweiss Foundation granted a new scholarship – this time to a 19 year old student of the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts from Chisinau, Alexander Prigalo. The surprise was prepared by Edelweiss together with his parents and teachers.

Edelweiss Foundation granted a new scholarship – this time to a 19 year old student of the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts from Chisinau, Alexander Prigalo. The surprise was prepared by Edelweiss together with his parents and teachers.

They prepared an audition at the la The National Opera and Ballet Theatre “Maria Biesu” where Alexander knew only about participation. To his surprise the young man found out at the end of his performance that he is the holder of a unique scholarship amounting 20 thousand lei.

“He was selected among many other students that deserve awards. Because he plays the piano and plays very beautifully, which fact was seen on the stage we decided to reward him and to support him in the following future competitions”, said Viorica Turcan, the Edelweiss Foundation representative.
The young man and his mother were deeply impressed by the gesture of Edelweiss.

“I was just told to come to the Opera and Ballet Theatre to play a song on piano. I was lost from the beginning, I was wondering what for. I play piano since I was seven years old. I recently came from Italy, Venice, where I got the big prize. I participated this year in Iasi, as well as in Poland”, said Alexander.

The scholarship provided by Edelweiss will help him take part in other auditions and contests for piano. The first such test will take place in early July, when Alexander will participate in an international competition in Sibiu, Romania.

Over time the Edelweiss Foundation created by Vlad Plahotniuc provided several scholarships to talented young people from Moldova to help them reach performance in selected domains.
