The founder of the Edelweiss Foundation, Vlad Plahotniuc, has visited today the Rayon Hospital in Nisporeni to announce about the scale-up of the Project “A New Life” within which products for the new-borns are distributed.

He has congratulated the mothers and offered them the present-box containing the necessary things for the first months of baby’s life.
It goes without saying that the most beautiful moment in everyone’s life is the moment when a child is born. I also have experienced such moments in the past, with ten years in between, with those two sons of mine. And of course, I do understand these moments, these emotions that all people go through in such moments. That is why, today, here, in the maternity from Nisporeni, my homeland, together with the colleagues from Edelweiss Foundation, we have launched the campaign “A New Life” under which we offer babies’ boxes with necessary things for taking care of the babies during the first months of their life, stated Vlad Plahotniuc.

The Director of the Rayon Hospital was impressed by the nice gesture of the Edelweiss Foundation, as well as by the care and the interest manifested by Plahotniuc for the hospital, its endowment and the way in which the patients are taken care of.

I am very pleased that Edelweiss Foundation has chosen our hospital among the first ones in the country to implement this project. It is an essential support, not only financial one but also an emotional one for the young mothers and we hope that this gesture would lead to increasing the birth rate in our hospital. And we also hope that thanks to the visit of the Mister President, Vlad Plahotniuc, we will also have other projects in the hospital from Nisporeni, because our locality is worth having a hospital with new and qualitative services, that we - the health workers can provide, stated Lidia Crăciun, Director of the Rayon Hospital from Nisporeni.

At his turn, he founder of Edelweiss thanked the health workers for their dedication for the respective profession and declared that together with the Foundation, he will further on get involved in the life of Nisporeni inhabitants, by endowing the hospital, but also with other necessary projects for the community.

I would like to thank you for what you do, for taking care of the patients, for the dedication that you get involved with, and wish you further success. We will try to change a lot in the endowment of the institution, in the payroll of the doctors and health workers. The potential changes, the possibilities increase and you will feel all of these here. Thank you once again, said Plahotniuc.

The Project “A New Life” was launched by Edelweiss on 12 July 2016 in the Maternity of the Institute of Mother and Child from Chisinau. The Project includes the distribution of present-boxes to mothers when babies are born. The present-box includes a cushion, bedding, clothes, diapers and other objects for taking care of the new-borns.

In 2017 the project was launched in other 3 maternities of the country in Nisporeni, Edinet and Cahul, envisaging to be extended at the national level.
