Social

A modern society is a responsible society that makes a commitment to develop disadvantaged communities, to support vulnerable groups and persons in distress.

Over the years, The Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc "EDELWEISS" has implemented a number of social projects, many of which were realized in orphanages and retirement communities. This kind of activities support disadvantaged strata, but because of the current situation in the country there are a large number of applications and the Foundation, unfortunately, cannot cover everything. Therefore we urge the society to engage and support our efforts. Through solidarity our joint efforts will bear fruit.

The Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc has launched this campaign within the “Revive Moldova” project which is dedicated to children’s health care in rural areas. Last year we managed to reach over 100 villages from Moldova, and this year we have extended our campaign and offered consultations in over 300 localities.

The doctors from our teams go to villages where there are no specialists or clinics to provide consultations to children. We have provided consultations to 15 214 children so far, and in some cases the doctors’ interventions from these teams have saved children’s lives.

Now we have 3 trailers fitted with modern equipment, including with an ultrasound device to diagnose some internal organ disorders, and the doctors on the field are very good specialists.

Protected Families

Say No to domestic violence!

Domestic Violence is a widespread problem in all countries of the world. Statistics show that, globally, 1 out of 3 women have been victims of one or multiple acts of domestic violence in their lifetime, 85% of domestic violence victims are women and in one out of three cases children have witnessed scenes of violence.

Only in the Republic of Moldova in 2015, there were 1914 reported cases of domestic violence, of which 1688 women and 102 children were victims. But these official numbers represent only the crisis situations in which women and children have decided to break the silence and overcame their fears, and filed a complaint against the aggressors. But the majority of victims still prefer to bear the aggression because of fear or shame.

Another campaign of the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc is entitled "Protected Families", a campaign to fight against the domestic abuse, whose objective is to offer support for children and women who have been supposed to violence in the family.

Therefore, we intervene particularly to make the ways to prevent cases of domestic violence nationally known, and also to provide psychological counseling and help for those in need.
