
The human rights issue in the Republic of Moldova has been the subject of a CMI contest organized with the participation of around 60 boarding school students from Drochia, Falesti, Orhei, Leova, Ungheni, Straseni. The goal of the contest was raising awareness on the situation in boarding schools and increasing participants’ social inclusion as a result of gaining knowledge of civil rights issues.
The contest took place in Ion Creanga lyceum in Chisinau and was organized by the Organization for Reform and Development of Educational System in partnership with “Edelweiss” Foundation for Development of the Republic of Moldova, US Embassy in Moldova, Embassy of Norway in Bucharest and East-European Foundation. In the framework of the contest, students participated in an intelligence test, the one that gave them most of the headache, prepared sketches and songs for their “homework” and did their best to represent their team in the most original way possible.
According to organizers, numerous repetitions took place since January, with clashes of ideas, that giving the teams the opportunity to prepare thoroughly for the contest. The best of performances were awarded by Edelweiss Foundation.
