
Anatol Ciricu, the weightlifter who won the second medal for Moldova at the Olympic Games in London was supported by Edelweiss Foundation during his training period.
Ion Bratan, the young man’s coach mentioned before the departure to London: “Anatol can strike at the Olympics”. With the same enthusiasm and determination, Edelweiss Foundation decided to invest in the young sportsman, and offered him a financial assistance worth 30 thousand lei in order to be able to train in better conditions and get prepared for the competition. It is worth mentioning that Edelweiss assisted Moldovan participants at various important international competitions at the stage when the foundation for great success is being laid. These donations are an indispensable part of a broader campaign of sustaining the youth and performance in the Republic of Moldova, a campaign launched by the Vlad Plahotniuc, the founder of Edelweiss Foundation.
We congratulate and thank Anatol Ciricu, who climbed the 3rd step of the Olympic podium summing up 407 kg at snatch and clean and jerk contest at 94 kg category. Please allow us to remind you that Anatol brought home two golden medals and a silver one from the European Championship in Turkey!
