London waits: European weightlifting champion is ready to win the gold at Olympics Areas

Anatol Cârâcu has a goal: to become Olympic champion. Athlete of Cahul is the only Moldovan weightlifter to attend the Olympics in London this year. The young man claims he is ready for the biggest competition of his career and he is being supported by his coach: “Anatol can have a great performance at the Olympics”, said his coach.

Before leaving to London Olympic Games, Edelweiss Foundation awarded Anatol, offering him a financial support of 30 000 lei, in order to be able to train, to prepare for the big competition. The donation was provided by the foundation sponsored by Vlad Plahotniuc, in the framework of a campaign to support young people’s performance in Moldova.

This year, Anatol Cârâcu won two gold medals and one silver at the European Championship in Turkey, and the will enter the Olympic competition on August 4, within the 94 kg weight category.
