The sixth family of flood victims has received keys to their new house
Thursday, August 12, 2010 the Barbarosies from village Sarateni received the keys to their new home in the village Onesti, disctrict Hincesti.
The Barbarisies is the sixth family which has received a new place of living within a new program “Where is their home? “ which helps the flood victims. It was launched by the Edelweiss Foundation in July 2010.

The spouses Vyacheslav and Valeria Barbarosie have four children: Irina(10) , Ariadna (7), Nicolae (5 ), Juliana (3). After the disaster they lost their house, the household, their wealth and hope. Valeria and Vyacheslav had worked hard to buy the house, which was purchased in Sarateni four years ago. They are still paying back the debts for the house, though it no longer exists.

After the flood they were temporarily placed in a dormitory of a boarding school in the town Hincesti. They asked for aid at the Edelweiss Foundation, and by the Council’s decision they were selected as beneficiaries within the program “Where is their home?".

When Lara Castravet, the Project Coordinator of the program "Where is their home?" gave the keys to their new house and showed them their new household, Vera Barbarosie, Vyacheslav's mother, who takes care of children when the parents are away working abroad, could not hold back the tears of joy and hope for a new beginning. The new house represents hope for the children that their parents will finally not be forced to work abroad and will return home to their new house.
