Another family of flood victims returned "home"
Tuesday, August 17, 2010 another family of flood victims has received a new place of living within the project initiated by the Edelweiss Foundation, in partnership with Prime TV.

Before the flood, the Mitru family had lived in the village Cotul Morii, district Hincesti. The house and their household were the foundation and the pride of the family. The Mitrus had worked in turns overseas, in Moscow to earn money for home and furniture fixing. Their entire income during the last years had been directed for the house and the household. Last autumn the Mitrus completed house remodeling, which was a modern one, with PVC windows and doors, the tile roof, but they had not been given much time to enjoy the conveniences that they had made with so much dedication and effort.

Their house, like all houses in the village Cotul Morii, was completely flooded and right after the flooding the family was temporarily placed at dormitory of Professional College # 8, district Hincesti. The Edelweiss team met them there, crying and desperate. With tears in her eyes, Natalia, 33 and Anatol Mitru, 40, told the story about the household they had built and which disappeared underwater in a few moments. Their children were housed with them, ten-year-old Vyacheslav and six-year-old Vlad, along with their grandmothers Nadejda and Eugenia, as well as her sister Natalia, who is a single mother of nine-year-old Tatiana and seven-year-old Daniela. They had called for help at the Edelweiss Foundation, which was granted. A home was purchased for this family in the amount of 14,000 EUR and repair works of the house which are being carried amounting to 6,000 EUR.

Today, July 17, 2010, in a solemn ceremony, Mr. Vlad Plahotniuc, the Edelweiss founder, handed the keys to their new home in the village Lapusna, district Hincesti. Ms. Valentina Buliga, Minister of Labour and Social Protection, together with Vice –President of Hincesti, Mr. Vyacheslav Breahnă have wished a happy life without danger to their new home.

"When I walked the doorstep – it was like I was back home" overwhelmed with emotions, in tears, confessed Natalia Mitru. They have already made plans, what and how they will be doing, and how to arrange a yard .Anatol has already got to know his new neighbors and been getting some advice near the gate. They were all happy, including little children who received gifts from the Edelweiss Foundation.
