Wednesday, August 18, 2010 within the project "Where is their home?" the Edelweiss Foundation has restored hope to another family that has suffered from floods in Hanceşti district in July this year.

The beneficiaries of the new houses are the spouses Snegur Alexander 34 , Valentina 24 and their three-year-old daughter Alexandra. Before the flood the Snegurs had lived in the village Sarateni, district Hincesti. It is a modest and hard-working family. All they have earned in their life was a result of their work and effort.

Valentina was working at the factory "Ionel" and Alexander had a seasonal work in Russia. They have arranged the house, worked their piece of land and like many other villagers dreamed of a better future. Moreover, this spring they found out that their family will be extended by another member and have already started planning re-arranging the house for the new baby.

The waters came suddenly, the Snegurs failed to evacuate anything rather than personal belongings. After the flood they were placed at the hostel of the Professional College in Hincesti. After the hardships, fear and despair they have passed, Valentina has stayed several times in a hospital due to the imminence of miscarriage. She is recovering now; the state of the mother and the baby is stable.

The Snegurs’ addressed for help to the Edelweiss Foundation, willing to move to any home, anywhere in the district Hincesti. They have been dreaming of a new house, where they can feel like home again, and where they can provide a home for Alexandra, and the new baby coming into the world soon.

"I feel good, I feel like home again. I'm sure we will quickly integrate into the community of the village Lapushna. Finally I can live without worries, knowing that my family has a roof and will not spend the winter in the street" said Valentina when she received the keys to their new home offered by the Edelweiss Foundation.

The new house is in the village Lapusna, Hancesti district and has everything necessary for living. The Snegur family plans to move to their new home immediately.
