The aid amounting to over 2.2 million lei was donated to the flood victims of the district Hincesti within a few weeks. Three houses have been donated to three families in the last five days. They received the keys to the newly renovated houses from the EDELWEISS founder, Vlad Plahotniuc. In addition to that, each family has received everything necessary for a decent life; including furniture, electrical appliances, land parcels and domestic animals.

"Social responsibility of a businessperson or a company is not confined to providing decent wages to employees and in time payment of all taxes to the state. More often the prompt reaction to the people's misfortune is more important by providing the aid in order to restore life to normalcy or even to change it for the better, "said Vlad Plahotniuc. He noted that "the team of the Edelweiss Foundation has made every effort until now so the people will not feel abandoned to the mercy of fate or fed with empty promises. The decision to help those families, which water has destroyed everything gained during a hard life, was taken only within half an hour. The first house was offered within several days."
All the families who have received the places of living so far say that after the shock, caused by the flood , they went through the emotions of the same intensity, but already nice ones when they were proposed to move to new homes in a few days.
"The carpets were still damp when I was contacted by the representatives of the Edelweiss Foundation and I was asked if I would move into a new house in two days. Within a few minutes I could not say a word. I can not describe all those feelings of a person who has lost everything, including the confidence to ever come back to normal life , and then in a moment has been given the chance to start a new life," said Galina Brânză , who received the first home offered by the Edelweiss Foundation.

Lilia Ababie, the mother of four children in the family whose husband is the only one breadwinner, claims that " she can not find words or does not know if there are such ones to thank those who have given back more than they have lost. The neighbours have managed to buy a house because they had some savings and, moreover, their daughter is working abroad, but they all have been sleeping on the floor all week long. We, however, have received not only the place of living, but the furniture, cutlery, bed linen, and even a share of land to support children."
"The activity of the EDELWEISS Foundation does not stop there.Dozens of requests for help come every week starting from an emergency surgery to refurnishing kindergartens or orphanages. It is impossible to help everyone, but we believe that every businessperson or a private company is able to follow a good example and offer the help to close ones ", Vlad Plahotniuc said at the meetings with the people in flooded villages.
