25 years of independence of Moldova celebrated by a “Concert of 100 young musicians”

The Moldovan National Youth Orchestra celebrates the Day of Independence of the Republic of Moldova with an exceptional concert. The show will take place on August 28, at 19:00 at Palatul Republicii.
Those 100 young musicians from 6 countries will sing in unison with the famous soprano Valentina Nafornita and one of the most talented of his generation young Romanian conductors Gabriel Bebeselea.
The concert will include pieces by Mieczysław Weinberg – Rhapsody on Moldavian themes (an absolute premiere), George Enescu – 7 songs on poems by Clément Marot and Gustav Mahler – Symphony no. 1 “Titan”.
This unique concert is the result of eight-day hard rehearsals conducted during August 21-27, that gather the most outstanding young musicians from Moldova, Romania, Ukraine, Switzerland, Belarus and the Netherlands.
Also, on August 30 the Moldovan National Youth Orchestra will go to Kiev for their first extraordinary concert in Ukraine together with the soloist Radu Croitoru. The concert will be held at Kiev Philharmonic and will start at 19:00.
These special concerts of the young Moldovan musicians are supported by the Vlad Pahotniuc’s “Edelweiss” Foundation, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Moldova, the United States Embassy in Moldova, the Ministry of Culture, the Romanian Cultural Institute in Chisinau “Mihai Eminescu”.
