A new extraordinary concert dedicated to the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Moldova’s Independence was held last night at the Palatul Republicii. 100 young members of Moldovan Youth Orchestra came upon the stage along with the famous soprano Valentina Nafornita, which performed music from Enescu, Mahler and Weinberg.

“The concert of those 100 young musicians” as all the series of performances from this year were held with the support of the Vlad Plahotniuc’s Edelweiss Foundation, which is close to the young members of the Moldovan Youth Orchestra for 6 years already. The concert was prepared thoroughly by young musicians. “There were intense rehearsals, but with plenty of good music together with Valentina Nafornita. That is why they could be in contact with such soloists, representatives of classical music”, said Andriano Marian, the director of the orchestra.

Valentina Nafornita played a few melodies for the first time to the public at home: “It is about six lieds of George Enescu on poems by Clement Maro, which are performed for the first time. I always feel very good when I come home, the emotions are only positive as joy and ecstasy”.
The audience remained fascinated by the musicians’ performance. “We always come to concerts organized by orchestra and even today we were happy to listen to Valentina Nafornita”, said one of the participants excited by the atmosphere created.

This summer more than four thousand spectators listened the concerts by the Moldovan National Youth Orchestra. In the coming days the young musicians will perform on the stage of the Kiev Philharmonic with a new show the latest in a series of those scheduled this summer.
