“Codreanca 2011” World Championship at Sport Dance took place in the period April 30-May 1, 2011. Moldovan dancers Dan Capcelea and Natalia Luchiv won the World Champions title in the framework of “10 dances” international contest. “Edelweiss” Foundation for the Development of the Republic of Moldova was the Official Sponsor of the event.

Dancers from over 30 countries made the spectators in the Palace of the Republic shiver with emotions. The newly established champions of “Codreanca” practice dancing for more than 10 years, but form a couple for only a couple of months. They confess they’ve enormously worked hard to obtain this golden medal.

The silver medal went to Russian dancers, while the bronze – to dancers from Canada. Moldova is hosting such kind of championships for 15 years already, and our dancers proudly stood on podium every time. Sports dancing have become one of Moldova’s business cards.
Edelweiss Foundation, the founder of which is Vlad Plahotniuc, is the official partner of this tournament. The organizer of the championship is “Codreanca” Federation of Sport Dance.
