The Institute of Mother and Child in Chisinau was the first maternity ward where 2 years ago the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss” launched “A New Life” campaign. Since then, thousands of babies have come to the world here and in other 23 maternity wards across the country, and Edelweiss has met each of them with a “Welcome to this world!” gift.

With great emotion the foundation’s team offered the 15,000th gift box under the campaign to Tulba family, from Bacioi village, in which three babies were born.

The Edelweiss Foundation’s members celebrated with the happy parents this special moment of their life, and besides the boxes filled with care products, they offered child safety seats as well, so that the little Ciprian, Gabriel and Laura can travel safely.

The worries that appear along with three babies are overwhelming, but the joy of it is also huge. The triplets’ father confesses that he is still getting used to take care of each of them at the same time and says that the support received from Edelweiss will be of great use to them.

“At first I could not believe it, but then I recollected myself and everything was fine. We are very happy! One in one hand, the other in another hand and we dandle them, we feed them, we don’t sleep much, one hour per night. We thank Mr. Vlad Plahotniuc for the gifts offered to children and to everyone!”, said Vasile Tulba.

The mother Tatiana is a model of strength, she managed to carry a difficult pregnancy, but she says a mother can endure a lot of things just to keep her treasures in her arms:
“It was a bit difficult, but if it’s long awaited, the pain is not even felt. If the Lord has given me three kids, I thank God and thank all who have been with us. Also we thank the Edelweiss Foundation and hope to grow big, healthy and strong”, said the newly minted mother of triplets.
Such a happy family moment could not be missed by the grandmothers, which say that they can hardly wait to look after their three grandchildren.

“Never in my life did I think I would have three grandchildren. I’ve been waiting for 11 years, and I wish all the best of the world for my children and my grandchildren”.

“We are very happy with our grandchildren, because it was very difficult without them”.

Lidia Cucos is the Executive Director of the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss” and the person who experienced, got excited and enjoyed every step of the campaign together with the families. She is happy that in two years the campaign has managed to offer, along with these gift boxes, so much support to parents across the country.

“Today we came to the Institute of Mother and Child to congratulate the Tulba family, who are the 15,000th beneficiaries of “A New Life” campaign. Firstly, we say them “Welcome to this world!”. We want to know them to be in safety, no matter where will they go, and how long the distances will be. That is why we prepared one more gift for them - a child safety seat for each little baby”, said Lidia Cucos.

Ever since the campaign was launched the medical staff of the Institute of Mother and Child had the extraordinary mission of giving the moms the news that they have brought beautiful and healthy children to the world, and they will receive a gift that will help them to take proper care of them.

“We have begun the beautiful collaboration with the Foundation of Mr. Vlad Plahotniuc more than two years ago. Thanks to this project, every baby born in our institution receives a gift. We are glad that this campaign, which was launched at our institution has now reached 24 perinatal centres in the Republic of Moldova”, said Sergiu Gladun, the director of the Institute of Mother and Child in Chisinau.

“A New Life” campaign is carried out by the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss” in 24 maternity wards across the country. Every child who is born in these maternity wards receives a gift box with care products essential during the first months of life. The box contains disposable diapers, baby cotton bodysuits, baby booties, cosmetics and medicines, a mattress and many other useful products for newly minted moms.
