“A New Life” campaign – three weeks of implementation in the maternity ward in Calarasi
The maternity ward in Calarasi was included in “A New Life” project of the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss” in March, once the project was extended into 24 maternity wards across the country.

Marina Savciuc is one of the mothers who have recently given birth here. She has two children and the fact that someone else, besides her family thinks of their well-being gives her courage and confidence that her little ones will grow in a better society.

Other moms we have met in Calarasi were also very pleased with the gift received from the Foundation. They say that the objects will be extremely useful and the idea of the campaign – to make sure the newborns in the country have the necessary things in the first days of their life, means no less than care for the future of the country.

“Our message to all is “Welcome to this world!”. We wish mothers to have healthy children, beautiful moments, and we will always be near”, said Lidia Cucos the Executive Director of the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss”.

The hospital doctors say that due to the campaign the number of mothers who will choose to give birth in this maternity ward will certainly increase.

“We are glad that our little ones have the opportunity to receive the gift. The pregnant women were going to give birth in Chisinau. We hope the mothers will come to Calarasi”, said Silvia Bobescu the director of the district hospital in Calarasi.

“I really want to tell you that we have been envious for a while, because this beautiful campaign did not take place in Calarasi”, said neonatologist Vitalie Triboi.

The district authorities also appreciate the campaign and are pleased that young parents from their district receive extra support at the start of their family life.

“We thank the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc for this beautiful intervention in Calarasi. I consider this measure to be welcomed, and a good encouragement for young families”, said Sergiu Artene the president of Calarasi district.

Starting March 2018 the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss” is implementing “A New Life” campaign in 24 maternity wards across the country. Every mother who gives birth to a child in one of these maternity wards receives a gift box with the necessary things to take care of the baby during the first months of life. The box contains disposable diapers, cotton bodies, cosmetics and medical products, a mattress and many other useful things.
