A day full of emotions was at the gymnasium school in Furceni village, Orhei district. Teacher Irina Gasper was named the eighth winner of “The most beloved of the teachers” title within the contest carried out by the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss”.
Pupils say that Irina Gasper is not just an extraordinary teacher, but also a person of value and that she is like a parent to them. When they found about the contest carried out by the Edelweiss Foundation, they wanted their teacher to be among the winners, and they made a video and sent it to Edelweiss.
“She’s more than a teacher and we do not even feel the barrier between us. I can be absolutely opened. As I can open up to my mother, so I can open up to my teacher”, said one of the pupils.
Irina Gasper confesses that this is one of the biggest surprises she has had. She is very fond of her pupils and is very happy that they feel the same towards her, but she did not think they would make such a gesture to show their appreciation.
“It was like a shock to me, and even now I do not know if I could express all the feelings and thoughts that my pupils caused me this morning”.
Besides “The most beloved of the teachers” title the Edelweiss team gave the teacher a laptop.
“In this way, your pupils have chosen to thank you for all your dedication you teach them with and instil the love for learning. Congratulations to you dear Madam!”, said Lidia Cucos the Executive Director of the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss”.
The joy of the prize was supplemented by another sensitive moment. Eliza, which is one of the pupils wanted to express her feelings in a poem in Romanian language.
“Am tot scris şi am mulţumit oamenilor de valoare,
Care paşii mi-au ghidat în această lume mare.
Simt, demult, că aş fi datoare unui om să-i mulţumesc,
Punând gânduri pe-o hârtie, vreau din suflet să-i vorbesc.”
“The most beloved of the teachers” contest was initiated by the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss” in September 2017 and gives the pupils across the country the opportunity to express their appreciation to their teachers. In order to enrol for the contest pupils should send a short video accompanied by a recommendation letter at the Foundation’s address.
