Vlad Plahotniuc’s Edelweiss foundation launches a grant competition for modernization of Moldova’s villages

Vlad Plahotniuc’s Edelweiss foundation launches a grant competition as part of the national project “A village of the future”, which will support the modernization of villages in the Republic of Moldova.

The goal of the project is to support rural development through specific results, so that they could serve as an example and a clear demonstration that villages in the Republic of Moldova can have a good level of living.

Under this call for proposals, from March 3 until April 1, 2017, mayors from all the country can send one or more modernization projects for their respective villages to the office of the Edelweiss foundation.  Projects can cover different domains, such as infrastructure, education, environment, tourism, sport, culture. Project should be supported by village residents through their signatures.

At the end of the competition, five winning projects will be selected from five different villages. The winning projects will receive 200,000 lei each from Vlad Plahotniuc’s Edelweiss foundation.

Winners will be announced on April 25, 2017, at the end of the selection process.

Through targeted investments in rural areas, the Edelweiss foundation supports the modernization of villages and creates incentives for families to build a future at home, in Moldova.
