Vlad Plahotniuc announces a new national project for local development from his native village

Vlad Plahotniuc’s “Edelweiss” Foundation contributes to the development of the villages of the Republic of Moldova through a new national project called symbolically “Village of the Future”.
The Edelweiss Foundation intends to support and encourage the modernization of several rural localities through investing in the landscaping of parks and recreational spaces for families, ensuring street lighting, equipping libraries or repairing educational and health institutions.
The project was launched today September 25 right in the native village of the Edelweiss founder. “We started with Grozesti and will continue to modernise this village step by step until it will become an example for all, concrete evidence that one can live in good conditions in the villages of Republic of Moldova, and thus more families will want to build its own future in our country. Our objective is to make, starting with Grozesti village and continuing with other localities, the people live in better conditions from now on, make them have drinking water and sewerage in their houses, renovated kindergartens, street lighting, safe parks”, said Vlad Plahotniuc.
Along with his fellow villagers the Edelweiss founder inaugurated in Grozesti a new park in the heart of the village installed for the needs of the villagers on an area of 3000 square meters. “Many memories link me with this village; I have spent my childhood here and learned a lot. Since my early age I had big plans regarding this place as I had done in respect of all that I had built after leaving the village, whether it was charitable projects, business projects or even political projects. I have always set the highest goals and worked to achieve them”, Vlad Plahotniuc explained why he chose to launch the project “Village of the Future” namely in his native village.
Before launching this new national project the Vlad Plahotniuc’s Foundation solved over the years many problems faced by rural citizens through donations of books and computers, repairs of kindergartens and schools or installation of heating systems in public institutions.
