A container with medical equipment arrived this morning at the Institute of Mother and Child in Chisinau. This donations was secured by the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss” and Medical Bridges, an non-for profit organization from the United States.

The equipment was donated based on a list of needs supplied by the administration of the Mother and Child Institute. The critically needed devices and supplies are valued at 128.500 USD.

“These supplies will ease our work considerably; these are extremely needed things, devices necessary in each hospital. We will be able to provide higher quality services to our patients”, said the doctors from the Institute of Mother and Child.

This medical equipment was brought from the United States of America due to a cooperation agreement signed several months ago between Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss” and Medical Bridges.

“We met the doctors from Houston in May. They showed us their top notch medical centre. We did not waste our time either: we stayed in touch with them and, thereby, and laid the ground work for collaboration. Today we can show you the first result of this collaboration”, said Vlad Plahotniuc, the Edelweiss founder, recalling his promise regarding the cooperation with the Medical Bridges organization for the benefit of several medical institutions from the Republic of Moldova.

Medical Bridges is known globally for its involvement in more than 80 countries where it provides support in the health care sector. While in Chisinau, the organization’s representatives George Bolettieri and Judkins Jeremiah Wilson said that they were pleased to work with Edelweiss for the benefit of the Institute of Mother and Child.

“This is a new market for us; we have not had the opportunity to work in Moldova, but we are happy that we were able to establish a partnership with the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss”. In the future, Edelweiss will help us make new donations to Moldova”, said the American doctors. At the same time, they praised the conditions in the Maternity Department of the Institute of Mother and Child after the extensive renovations that took place in the last two years.

We remind you that, in 2014, the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss”  took upon itself to sustain the upgrading of the Maternity Ward in the Institute of Mother and Child, as part of the “Revive Moldova” social campaign. In 2016, as part of a new project, Edelweiss provided assistance packages to new mothers and their babies.
