Easter joy for a single mother with six children from the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss”

However, there are families in which hardships cloud the joy of celebration. That is why like every year the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss” this year is also along with families who need little help to celebrate the sacred holidays.

The first family visited during the Easter campaign was the Radian family from Cioresti village, Nisporeni district.
Seven souls live together in a small house with too many needs and too little joy. Mother Viorica raises six children alone. The youngest is 3 years old, and the eldest is 16, but none of them ever received a gift.
Members of the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss” have arrived in the family’s house loaded with gifts, including a bicycle and clothes for the little ones, food for the festive table and a washing machine for the mother.
Despite deprivation, their mother is trying to grow them in care. She makes sure that they go to school and even if they do not have many clothes, she always tries to dress them in clean clothes. She thanked with tears in her eyes for the washing machine she had long dreamed about, but she never had the opportunity to buy it.
“I wash every day, because they come from school, there are six children, and there are a lot of clothes from everyone, and I cannot leave it for the next day. If there is a washing machine, then I can do something else”, says Viorica Radian excitedly.
The gifts managed to drive the sadness away from the faces of the little ones, and most of all they were delighted with the bicycle. They told us that before the Easter holidays they help their mother with cleaning. It is difficult for them, they do not have a well in the yard and they carry water with a bucket in turn, a few hundred meters away.
“Easter holidays are approaching and, traditionally, the team of the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss” wants to bring a smile on the faces of those with whom the fate was maybe a little bit more severe. Today we are together with a wonderful family with six children, six beautiful and good children. We came here loaded with sweets, gifts to make their day and holidays more beautiful”, said Lidia Cucos the Executive Director of the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss”.
