Stela Colesnic is for more than 20 years a teacher of Romanian language and literature at the secondary school in Bratuseni village, Edinet district. For more than two decades she teaches pupils to love literature, and also offers them her time, attention and friendship outside of class hours. She never expected anything in return for her dedication, but all generations of pupils who went through Mrs. Colesnic’s class many years after still keep a special place for her in their hearts.
 
When they found out on TV about the campaign of the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss” pupils tell that they wanted very much their teacher to be among the winners. They did their best to make this happen, they organized themselves and filmed a short video showing how much the Romanian language and literature teacher means to them. 
 
“We took part within the Edelweiss competition, because you are the best teacher, you have done a lot of things for us and we love you very much”, said Iuliana one of the pupils.
 
The meeting with the Foundation members was a real surprise for the teacher. She could not hide the emotions and the delight that the pupils thought she deserved the title of “The most beloved of the teachers”.
 
“Thanks to the Edelweiss Foundation for giving us the opportunity to know that there is someone next to us who appreciates us and for showing that the country needs us”, said the teacher with tears of joy.
 
Colleagues and school administration have only words of praise for the teacher and are glad that the pupils thought to do this gesture of appreciation.
 
Members of the Edelweiss Foundation offered the teacher, besides the title, a laptop to be used to prepare for classes.
 
“The children of the secondary school of Bratuseni village participated in our competition. They convinced us that they love their teacher very much and they decided in this way to thank her for everything she is doing for them”, said Lidia Cucos the Executive Director of the Edelweiss Foundation.
 
The Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss” gives pupils the opportunity to show their appreciation to the dearest teacher. In order to participate the pupils have to send to the Foundation a short video with a letter of recommendation.
