Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss” has defined 100 winners of the “100 scholarships for young people” National Contest
01 September 2017Starting with September 1, 100 high school students from the Republic of Moldova will receive scholarships from the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss” for the 2017-2018 academic year. They were selected from hundreds of pupils from all over the country, who filed applications to run for the Edelweiss scholarship.

The organisers recognise that choosing winners was not an easy task, because many of those enrolled in “100 scholarships for young people” National Contest have good learning outcomes and outstanding intellectual capabilities.
“We are impressed by the work of these children and the passion they have put in writing the essays they had to compose. We have selected the best 100 applicants - those who have achieved excellent results in all categories of judging. We congratulate them and wish them further success in school. They represent the future of Moldova”, the Executive Director of the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss” Lidia Cucos said.
“100 scholarships for young people” National Contest, which is dedicated to the 12th-grade high school students from the Republic of Moldova was launched on June 05, 2017 and aims to stimulate students with good learning outcomes. According to the terms of participation every young person concerned had to submit a set of documents containing curriculum vitae, copies of diplomas and certificates demonstrating the participation in high school competitions and Olympiads over the last two years of study, average grades for the past two years, and an essay titled “I am the future of my country”.
The amount of one Edelweiss scholarship is 500 lei per month, which is to be given to each winner during the 2017-2018 academic year (since September 2017 up to May 2018, included).
