Today, the representatives of the Edelweiss Foundation accompanied by the members of the mobile team arrived in Straseni on a visit to Elizaveta Plamadeala. She is retired and is one of the 40 elderly left alone, of whom the “Respect for seniors” campaign is taking care of.

The modest house of the old woman shelters 3 grandchildren – 2 girls and one boy, who have a very difficult life. Their mother left them since early childhood and their father is sick. Their only support is their grandmother, who fought for the brothers could not to be separated and reach an orphanage. The family lives modestly and all the troubles fall on the 76-year-old woman.

Now, when the woman has no longer strength to handle all this, the representatives of the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss” came to help her. They visit her on a weekly basis, help her with housework and bring food.
The old woman tells us she is easeful now that she has a helping hand, and rewards the Foundation’s gesture of kindness with good words:
“I feel good. They take great care of me. Let God help the Foundation and Mr. Vlad Plahotniuc”, the old lady said.

The “Respect for seniors” campaign was launched in May this year by the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss” and comes to make the retirement period easier for older people.

“We thank the Embassy of Austria to Chisinau and the “Neoumanist” Association for Education for being our partners in this project and helping us to take care of our old people. The Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc wants to bring as much joy and light as possible into the lives of grandparents”, the Executive Director of the Edelweiss Foundation Lidia Cucos said.
