The summer concerts performed by the Moldovan National Youth Orchestra enjoy support from the Vlad Pahotniuc’s “Edelweiss” Foundation, which is the general partner of this exceptional cultural event.
During July-August there will be held six unique concerts, among which a Film music, an Open Air Concert at the Soroca Fortress, a Recital with Valentina Nafornita and a grand concert at Kiev Philharmonic.
The onset of these special music events took place recently. After singing in the central square, in the building of the Government, in Parliament or their performance conducted by simple passersby on the street, the musicians from the Moldovan National Youth Orchestra performed classical music in the wheat fields from Cainari town.
The workers which arrived at work in the morning were surprised to find in the field of wheat along with tractors and combines they work on everyday 15 young musicians accompanied by a piano and a pianist, who performed them the Andante part from Concert No. 21 for Piano and Orchestra by Mozart.
“Since the orchestra was founded in 2011 the great desire was to make classical music accessible to the general public. And the cultural events of an open air or a flash mob type come to bring the musician to the listener and not vice versa as it traditionally happens”, said Andriano Marian, the director of the Moldovan National Youth Orchestra.
The summer concerts 2016 edition is held under the slogan “The Summer of 100 young musicians” aiming at a record number of beneficiaries from countries like Moldova, Romania, Ukraine, Latvia, Belarus, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
These special concerts of the young Moldovan musicians are supported by the Vlad Pahotniuc’s “Edelweiss” Foundation, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Moldova, the United States Embassy in Moldova, the Ministry of Culture, the Romanian Cultural Institute in Chisinău “Mihai Eminescu”.
