The group of young musicians gathered under the name of “Chisinau Youth Orchestra” gave the first concert in the framework of the cultural tour “Classical Music for All”. The event was held on August 17th c.y. in the Metropolitan Cathedral Square in Chisinau and caught the attention of hundreds of people, who gave standing ovations to the performance of young talents, whose repertoire did not miss plays by Mendelssohn, Ceaikovski and Neaga.

Together with the audience gathered in the Metropolitan Cathedral square, the Edelweiss Foundation enjoyed the symphonic music show – the foundation that chose to be a partner of this unique cultural project. “Edelweiss is traditionally a friend and supporter of youth and performance. We supported this project because we strongly believe that it is an useful contribution to the carrier of these young talented people, who on their return, get us closer to art and to the beautiful” , declared Lara Moraru at the end of the concert, the Executive Director at Edelweiss.

The project coordinator, the band-master Andriano Marian, expressed his hope that through this type of concerts, the classical music will be more known and appreciated in the Republic of Moldova. “Through this action we intend to make classical music become an integral part of the life of each of us, thus governing our hearts. Today, the Moldovans being spread all over the world, find it hard to connect with each other. We believe that classical music is able to make us more united”, said Andriano Marian.

Being at its third edition, Chisinau Youth Orchestra is a cultural project that aims at promoting classical music within the public of the Republic of Moldova. This year, the project gathered, under the supervision of Andriano Marian, more than 70 young musicians from Moldova, Romania, Ukraine, Germany and Spain. The young group has three more important concerts scheduled – at the Organ Hall in Chisinau, as well as in Romania, in Sinaia and Bucharest.
