Since March this year, all the mothers delivering in Drochia maternity received from “Edelweiss” Foundation of Clad Plahotniuc a box with all things which are necessary for taking care of the babies during their first months of life. Three months have passed since extending the campaign “A New Life” to cover this maternity as well, and already 80 families have enjoyed the gifts provided by the Foundation. The Edelweiss team visited Drochia to congratulate the mothers and to wish the babies born here a “Welcome to this world!”

Being 37 years old, Mariana Grosu is already a mother of 5 children. The other day, she has delivered a healthy and beautiful girl, weighting three kilograms. She says that all the things from the gift box will be really useful for taking care of the little one, as a big family has a lot of joys, but also a lot of needs.

“I have four kids at home, and the girl I have delivered on Saturday is the fifth child. The things that I received will be of great use to me, first of all the diapers”, said Mariana.

The gift box represents a support which is welcomed by all the mothers. They say that it is a surprise coming at the most appropriate time, when they need it the most.

“We would like to thank the Foundation and Mister Plahotniuc for providing us such a gift and for bringing this project in our district. I am very pleased, especially for the baby nose aspirator, diapers, bodysuits – all of them are so useful for a newborn”, stated a young mother.

The Head of the Maternal Section of Drochia District Hospital, Lilia Nicu, mentioned that this is a joy for the medical personnel of the hospital as well, to share such precious moments with the parents. They know the best what care for a newborn means and they are very delighted to see that mothers get discharged from maternity having all the products they need for the first months.

“The mothers are happy, they are always with a smile on their faces. They have everything that is necessary for taking care of a newborn. We thank Edelweiss Foundation and Mister Plahotniuc for the extraordinary assistance he provides through this campaign”.

Ion Dascăl, the President of the District, has also conveyed words of gratitude to Edelweiss team from behalf of all the families from the district.
“We are so thankful for the fact that the campaign has reached also Drochia. It is very welcomed for the mothers who receive these gift boxes with strictly necessary things for the birth of a child. We are happy”, stated Ion Dascăl.

Every meeting with the young families is very special for the Edelweiss team. Lidia Cucoş, the Executive Director of the Foundation, confessed that she gets overwhelmed with joy whenever visiting any of the 24 maternities under the Foundation’s campaign.
