The campaign organized by the International Foundation CERI in partnership with Edelweiss culminated in distributing winter shoes to about 7300 disadvantaged children. The charity tour that donated footwear to orphanages and boarding schools in the Republic of Moldova has ended today. The participating volunteers visited 60 institutions across the country during 3 weeks.
In the framework of the tour steered by CERI and Edelweiss, the volunteers organized fun activities and distributed sweets spreading the joy of winter holidays among children from orphanages and boarding schools. The children staged shows, recited poetry and sang carols all the while proudly displaying their new footwear.
„The first partnership between Edelweiss and CERI has been a very successful one. We brought joy to a lot of children and we heard a lot of emotional stories. We are proud to have joined the CERI Foundation in donating footwear to so many beautiful yet disadvantaged children this winter. We would also like to thank all the volunteers who took part in this initiative for their social responsibility and solidarity”, said Lara Castraveţ, project coordinator at the Edelweiss Foundation.
