Ten years ago she has lost her husband and there is no one else to support her or take care of her. She confesses that loneliness is not so pressing since the Edelweiss Foundation’s mobile team is visiting her. That is why she is thankful to the founder Vlad Plahotniuc.
“Today I am the happiest person on earth. I thank him so much because he is a man with a great soul and he does not leave us. I want to tell him that in great need he is like a candle to me, like the sun that illuminates a hard path. Let God protect him and more people who can do good deeds join him”, said the old lady.
Zinovia Staver is another lonely old lady in need who is helped by the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss” under the “Respect for seniors” social campaign. “Grandma Zina is a special beneficiary of our campaign because she sees life through other senses. The colours of her life come from the kindness and warmth of the people around her. We gladly come to her every time to bring her a ray of hope and joy”, said Lidia Cucos the Executive Director of the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss”.
The “Respect for Seniors” social project was launched in May 2017 in cooperation with the Embassy of Austria to Chisinau and the “Neoumanist” Association. The campaign is aiming at supporting 40 elderly persons from Straseni district through social assistance and medical services provided at home.
