The Edelweiss Foundation once again supports the most important cultural event in the Republic of Moldova - “Maria Bieşu” International Opera and Ballet Festival.

The Edelweiss Foundation once again supports the most important cultural event in the Republic of Moldova - “Maria Bieşu” International Opera and Ballet Festival.

For the 26th year in a row the art lovers have the chance to get loaded with the energy of the great opera singers who will come on the stage of the national opera during the eight memorable nights.

“We inherited not only the art of Maria Biesu, the prima donna of our lyrical scene, we inherited this extraordinary event, which besides bringing us very close to the pearls of this extraordinary art we have the opportunity to see the great opera singers”, said the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research Monica Babuc.

During September 7-16 seven opera shows will take place, where soloists from 10 countries will participate. The Festival will be closed by a gala concert supported by celebrities such as the Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Florez, soprano Valentina Nafornita, Andrei Jilihovschi, Mihail Dogotaru and Igor Turcanu.

At its 26th edition this festival has already become a tradition, a cultural symbol of the Republic of Moldova. It is a pleasure for us to be part of such an important event, to support and encourage the artists of our country, our national, as well as international values”, said the Executive Director of the Foundation Lidia Cucos.

This year’s festival program includes operas “Macbeth”, “Romeo and Juliet”, “Boema”, “Swan Lake”, “Carmen”, “The Secret Marriage” and “Spartacus”.
