The Edelweiss Foundation team has visited again the maternity ward in Soroca
We came back to Soroca to congratulate the mothers who just have given birth and to provide the babies with a welcome-to-the-world gift. We distributed the boxes with basic necessities to parents and we want these boxes to help them to take care of the little ones during their first months of life.

Mothers are always extremely happy and excited about the special moment of birth, as well as about the surprise made by the Edelweiss team.
“This is the first gift, thanks to Vlad Plahotniuc for taking care of the children, for helping them. Thanks a lot for providing such gifts. Here there are good things that cleanse the nose, napkins, and diapers. Everything is needed for a child”, said one of the mothers.

The products in boxes are carefully chosen so that they could help families save little money so much necessary now for many other needs of the babies.
“I was very glad to receive them and thanks a lot for taking care of us and our children. Everything is suitable. The diapers, first of all the wipes are the most necessary”, said another mother.

Fathers also enjoy the gifts received from the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss” and confess how welcome these gift boxes are.
“We did not expect to receive this gift. It was a pleasant surprise. We haven’t heard anything from our relatives, I think we are the first ones among our family members who gave birth to a boy and received these gifts”.

In Bunescu’s family a little boy came to the world. Parents had two little girls so far and Andrei, the head of the family is visibly excited and grateful for our surprise.

“We are glad that a boy is born after two daughters. And I am very pleased and happy. It's a big surprise, we did not expect it. This is the first gift we received at the maternity ward”.
The medical personnel of the hospital consider our initiative as an extraordinary support for Soroca families.
“The Soroca maternity ward participates in the “Edelweiss” campaign to offer gifts for newly minted moms, young mothers who are very happy about these gifts. This support is very suitable”.

So far, more than 550 mothers received the gift boxes from the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss” in the Soroca maternity ward.

“We continue our mission to share the joy among mothers who bring a new life to the world. We are very happy to be among the first to greet with “Welcome to the world!” message the babies from Soroca”, said the Edelweiss Executive Director Lidia Cucos.

At the moment, “A New Life” campaign initiated by the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc is carried out in 24 maternity wards across the country. In more than two years since it was launched nearly 30,000 families have benefited from the gift box.

Since December the Government will take over the implementation of “A New Life” project and will implement it in all the maternity wards of Moldova.
