October came with great joy for the newly minted mothers from Hincesti. During the most recent visit to the maternity hospital in the town the representatives of the Edelweiss Foundation met here happy mothers, beautiful families with impressive life stories.

For 13 years Elena Verdes and her husband wanted to have a baby. Now, after all this time of expectation and hope Elena gave birth to a perfectly healthy little girl. The woman was overwhelmed by happiness when the Edelweiss team came to congratulate her and give her a box of articles of prime necessity to help her to take care of the little girl after she leaves the hospital.

Samira, Artiom and Patricia along with their father were sitting in the waiting room impatiently to take their brother home. Peter was born just a few days ago, and the children have already realized that the little boy and their brother Artiom are as like as two peas, and are eager to get to know each other better and to play together.

Their enthusiasm was also shared by their mother, who besides the joy of having a new baby has been deeply impressed by the Foundation’s gesture to offer them so many things they will need when they get home.

“I just gave birth and in no longer than 20 minutes I received the box. I was not ready, and this gift helped me”, said the mother.

The acting director of the Hincesti Perinatal Center Stefan Cojocaru highlighted the importance of this support for families. He says that most of the mothers come to the hospital with just a few things for the little ones, and the products from the box are very useful.

“It is an essential support for a family, especially for socially vulnerable families this is something extraordinary. People are very pleased; the mothers have practically everything to take care of their newborns during the first months”.

Since the beginning of the campaign more than 500 newly minted moms from Hincesti benefited from the gift box at the district maternity hospital.

““A New Life” campaign goes on. We continue to provide support to young mothers in the happiest moments when a new life appears”, said the Executive Director of the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss” Lidia Cucos in Hincesti.

The maternity hospital in Hincesti is one of the most modern in the country. Since March women who give birth here enjoy the best conditions and an extremely important gift in this happy moment of their lives.

“We have a very modern maternity hospital in Hincesti, and I think there is no other alike in the Republic of Moldova. It is a regional hospital and it is very pleasant that joyful and gift-giving events for young mothers are being organized here”, said the Mayor of Hincesti town Alexandru Botnari.

The local authorities are pleased that young people from the district receive this help. The District Chairman Ghenadie Buza thanked the Foundation for the contribution made by “A New Life” campaign to the benefit of the community.

“Every child who is born receives this support from the Edelweiss Foundation. It is a big plus for young mothers and children born in this maternity hospital”, said Ghenadie Buza.

So far 25,000 boxes were offered as gift under “A New Life” campaign with all the necessary things to take care of babies during the first months of their life. The Foundation’s action is conducted in 24 maternity hospitals of the country.
