Starting this week the children and young people from Manoilesti village, Ungheni district have access to a modern sports ground. This was possible due to generosity of several sponsors, including Edelweiss.
The new field was built in just two months and is divided into several areas where football, basketball and volleyball can be played. The field is equipped with lighting installation, which will allow the villagers to play games and do the trainings even in the evening.
Young people at the inauguration said that the new field is good and that from now on it will be a pleasure to practice favourite sports.
“It is very well developed and well arranged. On the old stadium, when it rained we could not train, and in the evening we could not train since there was not enough light. Now the field has lightning and we have all the conditions”, said a football player. “I think this will have a positive effect and children will be satisfied with everything that they are provided with. We hope that sports will enter everybody’s home”, said another young man.
The Mayor of the Manoilesti village Valentina Grosu explained the necessity of the project and the way it came to life: “There have been some expenses that we could not cover and the “Edelweiss” Foundation was responsive. The village is young, it is developing and we wanted young people and children to have a place to spend their free time”.
The Chairman of the Ungheni district Ludmila Guzun also being present at the inauguration came with a message of support: “I think it is our duty to support these projects and to have such fields in every locality”.
The Edelweiss team came to assist at the event and symbolically offered three balls for the children of the village – one for football, for basketball and for volleyball. “The Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss” supports and encourages sports, supports and encourages a healthy lifestyle. We wish young people to develop through sports, to leave from here, their native village as great athletes and glorify our country around the world”, said the Executive Director of the Foundation Lidia Cucos.
