How much joy goes into a human soul you can’t imagine only if you become a parent. This is what the members of the Edelweiss team always hear from mothers they meet during their visits to the maternity wards of the country. And since happiness can never be too much, the members of the Foundation always come to them with a gift, which will help them ease their worries in the first few months after birth. This time the Edelweiss team positively energized from the young families from Ceadir-Lunga, to whom they handed dearly the boxes with articles of prime necessity to take care of their babies.

Just a few hours after birth, Katyusha already greeted her first guests and her first gift in life. Even if she is too small to enjoy everything found in the box, the Edelweiss teddy-bear will surely become a good friend for her for many years to come.
“She is quiet, she will not cry. The same are our sons, they look like their father. Their mother can yell, but their father does not”, told the excited mom Natalia Buga.
“A New Life” campaign has started in the maternity ward in Ceadir-Lunga in March, and since then over 500 boxes for newborns have been distributed here.

“It is a very positive thing. Mothers know about it and ask when the box will come, and we tell them to wait, and it will come for sure”, said doctor Raisa Sleahtitkaia.

Little Anastasia also was born in this maternity hospital. She is the third child of the family, and her mother Tatiana knows well what it means to have at hand the things you need right away after birth.

“Everything contained in the box are articles of prime necessity. Diapers and all the other things. Being under stress, you do not think about many things. It is a necessary help and it’s very nice to receive it”, confessed the newly minted mother.

The campaign was designed so that each child to have a good start in life and young people to be encouraged to start a family.

“We met beautiful moms and beautiful children here. We have to say that this campaign is carried out from heart, because there is nothing more beautiful in the world than little children. We wish them all to be healthy and have a happy childhood”, said the Executive Director of the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss” Lidia Cucos.

For more than two years “A New Life” campaign was the first support at the birth of the baby for young families in Moldova. During this time, 25,500 boxes with items necessary for newborn babies were offered to parents in 24 maternity wards. The model of this Foundation’s project was taken over by the Government, and starting from December it will be extended at national level for all children born in the Republic of Moldova.
