The meeting was filled with the joy of graduation and the perspective of the new beginning that awaits them. The pupils were filled with emotions, and also with emotions they remembered the moment they started this year and were selected to receive the Edelweiss Scholarship.

“I began to scream with joy, and people stared at me strangely. I was very happy and I called my family to tell them”.

Excellence also brings responsibility to use the extraordinary potential for the good of the whole community. This is the message that Vlad Plahotniuc wanted to convey to young people along with his congratulations.

“I call upon you to stay in the country. If anyway you want and need to go, to gain experience, to gain knowledge abroad, then my second call follows: come back in the country! Come back because the country needs you, talented, dedicated young people, and together we will change Moldova”, said the Edelweiss Founder Vlad Plahotniuc.

The “100 scholarships for young people” project was launched out of the desire to support pupils showing outstanding outcomes, to congratulate them for their success and encourage them to continue studying with the same determination.

“We congratulate you for your performances, for the work you have done day by day, for being the best of the best. The fact that beautiful young people, creative young people, full of initiative as you are want to make a change has enormously impressed us”, said Lidia Cucos the Executive Director of the Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc “Edelweiss”.

“The experience I gained with Edelweiss was something incredible for me because I had the opportunity to meet a great number of wonderful people. Through this project young people are encouraged to remain in the country and only together we can help improve the existing situation”, said Olesea.

Whether they regarded it as a prize or as a support to study even more hardly, the scholarship received during nine months came as a joy to each pupil. For many of them it was the first money earned by their own effort and a proof that hard work is rewarded, a lesson that will help them never give up their desire to be the best.

“It is very important for young people to be supported. Thanks to this scholarship I was able to pay on my own for some extra English language classes”, said one of the scholarship holders.
