Vlad Plahotniuc launched in Straseni the social campaign “Respect for the Elderly”

In collaboration with the Austrian Embassy and the Association for Education “Neoumanist”, the Edelweiss Foundation launched a social campaign “Respect for the Elderly”. The project envisages helping the elderly people by offering a number of social services and medical assistance at home.

In collaboration with the Austrian Embassy and the Association for Education “Neoumanist”, the Edelweiss Foundation launched a social campaign “Respect for the Elderly”. The project envisages helping the elderly people by offering a number of social services and medical assistance at home.

The official launch of the project was attended by the founder of the Edelweiss Foundation, Vlad Plahotniuc, the Ambassador of Austria in the Republic of Moldova, Christine Freilinger, the Attaché of the Austrian Ministry of Labor, Gero Stuller, and the Director Executive of the Association for Education „Neoumanist”, Veronica Ţâmbalari.
 
The project was launched within the Day Center for the Elderly under the Association for Education „Neoumanist” from Străşeni town, where the event guests had the possibility to network with the elderly. Subsequently, the representatives of the Embassy and Edelweiss Foundation together with the members of the mobile team went to Ghelăuza village, Străşeni rayon, to visit one of the beneficiaries of the “Respect for the Elderly” Project. Here, the founder of Edelweiss, Vlad Plahotniuc, discussed with Mrs. Olga Baltaga, 77 years old, who is currently in a wheelchair, and promised to help her.

Vlad Plahotniuc pointed out the importance of this project which envisages supporting the elderly persons in our country. “In closed collaboration with the Austrian Embassy and Neoumanist Association, the Edelweiss Foundation has initiated a social project, through which we would like to contribute to improving the living conditions for the elderly persons. It is an important signal for the entire society”, stated the founder of Edelweiss Foundation.
 
He has also thanked all the people who got involved and who made it possible to launch the Project “Respect for the Elderly”. “I would like to thank all the people participating in this project. I am sure that we will continue the good collaboration with the Austrian Embassy and other partners which will join our project”, mentioned Vlad Plahotniuc.
 
The “Respect for the Elderly” Project will last for 9 months and 40 elderly persons will benefit from the project in Străşeni rayon. These persons will benefit from medical assistance and care, domestic services, delivery of packages with foodstuff, services which will be ensured by a mobile team of 4 persons.
