The founder of “Edelweiss” Vlad Plahotniuc had a meeting with the founder of “Moldova Aid” Non-Governmental Organisation Victoria Dunford where he congratulated her with her entire charitable activity in the Republic of Moldova.

Victoria Dunford thanked Vlad Plahotniuc for his involvement and support for “Moldova Aid” in the Phoenix Centre project and said that this support “came exactly when the centre was in a deadlock”. Also, Dunford mentioned that “the change begins with us” and congratulated the Edelweiss founder for all the projects implemented that aim to provide direct aid to people.

In turn, Vlad Plahotniuc thanked Victoria Dunford for the way she understands how to help people, for the fact that she did not forget for a moment those who are at home although she has been established in the UK for many years.

At the same time the founder of “Edelweiss” also welcomed the way she works in the Moldovan Diaspora and stated that “it is important to see how we can return them home, but largely we know that we have to ensure good living conditions here in Moldova. Some of them leave to find a job, others leave to study. It’s not a problem that people are leaving, but it’s a problem, if we do not change things here for them to come back home.”

Dunford opened the Phoenix Centre for children and young people with special needs in Riscani town in 2015. For all of her activity in supporting children with disabilities in 2016 she was awarded by the Queen of Great Britain with the distinction of “British Empire Medal”.

Victoria Dunford said that she wishes to continue to cooperate with Vlad Plahotniuc and added that due to the good people and activities of these foundations we hope that everything will be fine. Both foundations will implement joint projects in the next period as well to support people with special needs from the Republic of Moldova.
