A new playground was opened in the presence of over 50 children and parents from Riscani sector and the founder of Edelweiss, Vlad Plahotniuc. All children who attended the event had the opportunity to test for the first time the modern and attractive equipment from the new playground.
This new playground is located in the Mezon Park from the Riscani sector of Chisinau and has an area of 225 square meters. This is the tenth playground opened so far by the Vlad Plahotniuc’s Foundation. Overall, 40 similar parks will be constructed and opened in several localities from the Republic of Moldova within the social “Edelweiss Parks” project.
According to the Edelweiss founder this new social initiative was started for two reasons: the first one is related to the lack of modern playgrounds and the second is related to the need for the little ones to spend their time in safe places.
“What you see here today is a place where children can play safely and the parents don’t have to be worried. Our goal is to make through the projects we develop as many people as possible realize the need to get involved and contribute to creating a safer society and free of aggressiveness. Therefore we launched recently a national project to combat domestic violence and stop child abuse. If we rally around these objectives, together we can change things, and our children will grow up in a healthy and safe environment”, said Vlad Plahotniuc.
Vlad Plahotniuc’s “Edelweiss” Foundation develops several social projects aimed at caring for children and their harmonious development, among which there are the Mobile Paediatric Cabinet, where rural children receive free medical consultations, “A new life” Campaign for the newborns at the Mother and Child Institute from Chisinau, the School of Edelweiss Ambassadors for career guidance for young people.
