The mobile medical unit of the “Revive Moldova. Department of Pediatrics” campaign, initiated by Vlad Plahotniuc’s Edelweiss Foundation has traveled about 170 km to reach the Balatina village, Glodeni region, where it was welcomed with joy by the locals.

In only one day, over 100 children have been investigated by the pediatric room. After the consultations, doctors have diagnosed a dozen of children with pathologies, including cardiovascular, respiratory disorders and dental caries.“The problems include a wide diversity, starting with dental diseases which affect most of the children, to respiratory and heart diseases. We urge the parents to address to the Institute of Mother and Child for free consultation at a specialist”, said Mariana Capcelea, pediatrician and one of the specialists involved in the campaign.

The parents were excited about the project idea since the mobile unit was equipped with modern equipment, including ultrasound, whereas their village has local family doctors, but no medical equipment to detect certain pathologies.“It’s very good that the caravan arrived in our town, especially because not all have the means of going to Chişinău to make all the necessary examinations. We are grateful to those who thought about our situation”, said a mother of a child consulted by the pediatric specialists mobile unit.

The complete pediatric ambulatory schedule “Revive Moldova” can be seen on the following website www.edelweiss.md . The project has already reached over 60 regions of the country and offered free consultations to more that 4000 children. This action is a part of the campaign organized by the Vlad Plahotniuc’s Edelweiss Foundation in partnership with the Ministry of Health.
