Edelweiss donates books to five new communities!
Children from Ciuflesti, Baccealia, Farladeni and Carnateni villages from Causeni region received a donation of books from behalf of Edelweiss Foundation. The donation was made to school libraries. In the framework of “For Book of Moldova” campaign launched by Edelweiss Foundation, books were also donated to “Ion Creanga” lyceum from Causeni.

Edelweiss foundation representatives caught the teachers in a moment of sadness and despair. The teachers are really concerned with the new distribution of financial means to schools. The proposed formula will cover less than 6 thousand lei per year per pupil. The optimists present at the donation ceremony, elected people from the five communities from Causeni, said that at least they do not have to worry about lack of books in the library.

In 2012, “For the book of Moldova” campaign counts more 30 000 beneficiaries who received new books in Romanian language. “We believe in equal chances for all people who are willing to enhance their potential. All the people who are willing to study need to have access to books”, said Lara Castravet, Edelweiss Foundation Project Coordinator.

“For the book of Moldova” campaign will continue its activity this year and new donations are already scheduled for November and December.
